Why I'm Writing "Building in Private"

I’ve always been hesitant about writing a newsletter. I don’t use social media much, and I’ve never been a huge fan of public posting.

However, I want to explore writing a bit more and start using some of the content creation tools that have become increasingly popular. I’m probably late to the bandwagon, but I’m using this newsletter as a way to dogfood Beehiiv and related products. I’m always trying to become a better product engineer, and one of the ways to do that is by using good products.

“Building in public” is trendy, and while I totally understand why people go that route, I also think there’s already too much noise out there. That’s why I’m calling this newsletter Building in Private.

Most of what I’m working on won’t be shared. I’m likely not going to post daily or anything like that. But every so often, when I run into a lesson or a problem that might help someone else, I’ll post it here.
